Cullen Vane attended Marquette University when they were still known as the Warriors. He is the father of two sons, Tyler and Zachary, and lives in California's Sierra foothills. Jim Gragnola is a San Jose State Spartan. He is the father of a son and a daughter, Dominic and Giada, and is married to Yvonne. He lives in the Santa Clara Valley. The two authors met when they played on the same Little League team in Saratoga, CA.
