Opened in 1955 by a former Trader Vic's bar manager, Tiki Bob's stood at the corner of Post and Taylor Streets in San Francisco. The logo, designed by Alec Yuil-Thornton, was distinctive and is still a popular design. The smiling tiki logo still stands in front of the old location which is now something called Honey Honey. Tiki Bob's did not last long. The owner, Bob Bryant, tried to franchise his concept with a spot at the Capitol Inn in Sacramento, but closed locations soon after that.
